No matter how small or large your home improvement project — whether it’s planting a vegetable garden or a full demo and renovation of a builder-grade kitchen — getting started can be difficult. That’s especially true if your knowledge is limited or you’re a victim of decision fatigue.
Good news: D-FW has three home and garden trade shows planned this fall. You can explore home and outdoor trends and connect with top local pros for expert advice, all in one visit. Here’s what to know about these events.
Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show, Sept. 6-8
The fourth annual Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show is taking over Will Rogers Memorial Center’s West Texas Hall the weekend of Sept. 6-8. Booths for contractors, builders, sports court designers and other professionals will pack the 94,000-square-foot exhibition hall.
Expect daily seminars on topics like trees, composting and fall vegetable gardens; you’ll also be able to buy cookware, handcrafted soaps, potted trees and more. The show has a number of family-friendly activities and shows, too — for example, learn about wildlife conservation through animal demonstrations. You can even adopt your next family pet.
The show is open 2–6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. Admission is free; parking passes are $12.
Collin County Fall Home & Garden Show, Sept. 20–22
Later in September, head to Allen for the Collin County Fall Home & Garden Show. Get landscaping advice from master gardeners, find your ideal closet organization system and learn about home generators and security doors, among other topics.
In addition to the show’s giveaways, you’ll be able to shop for your new pool or hot tub, plus backyard accessories like pool toys and lounge chairs. You can also browse for flowers, bushes, cacti and trees. There will be children’s crafts, including coloring and birdhouse building, and kids cooking classes are set for Saturday and Sunday. You can adopt both cats and dogs as well as watch a dog training seminar. There will be birds of prey demonstrations as well.
This one takes place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center, 2-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. Admission and parking are free.
Dallas Home Show, Nov. 16–17
Before the holiday season really hits full swing, get a head start on your New Year’s home improvement projects with the Dallas Home Show at Fair Park’s Centennial Hall. You’ll find inspiration for home siding, fireplace, sunroom and deck projects. Want to dig out a pond on your property, build a gazebo, tackle a mold issue, retile your laundry room or replace your windows? An exhibitor can help with those things, too.
The two-day show features companies and products from across Texas, like ShelfGenie of Dallas-Fort Worth and McKinney-based Performance Roofing.
While you’re there, take advantage of show specials and deals on goods and services. At the show’s Hot Tub Blowout Sale, you can shop hot tub and spa models of all sizes, prizes and features, like speakers and LED lighting.
Admission is free if you register online in advance or $10 at the door. The show runs 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.
