The Dallas Builders Association’s Home of the Week is one of the last few builds in 4Tree Development LLC’s green community, Abode @ White Rock in East Dallas. Located at 2110 Arnold Place, the home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,100-plus square feet of space. This midcentury modern-style design will be completed in November.
The builder for the development is Hoffmann Homes, known for sustainable single-family construction. Abode @ White Rock features their thoughtful and awarding-winning design styles in each of the eight homes within the community. Modern farmhouse, midcentury modern and other architectural styles will surround a pocket park with a stand of mature trees, native plants and a community cistern to irrigate the site.
“Goals for the design of this community are to manage energy and resources wisely,” said a company spokesperson. “Abode @ White Rock succeeds by making conscious choices for every aspect of the development.”
Every Hoffmann home is built using insulated concrete form walls by Fox Blocks with a standard of resiliency that is unmatched in the marketplace. The Arnold Place build also features an insulated concrete pantry that doubles as a secure safe room for severe weather events. This high-performance home is equipped with multi-zone Carrier high-efficiency air conditioning, a tankless hot water heater and a natural gas fireplace for efficient-energy bills.
“The buyer can add an optional solar array and eliminate the already low energy bills,” said the spokesperson.
The luxury kitchen includes Frigidaire Professional Series appliances with built-in refrigerator/freezer columns and a wine refrigerator and custom wood cabinets and opens to an expansive great room and dining area with a high ceiling. Andersen high-efficiency windows provide views of the large porch and yard.
The primary suite includes a luxury bathroom with a freestanding soaker tub and separate shower. A spacious laundry room accommodates a full-sized washer and dryer, cabinets and a built-in counter and sink.
There is also smart home prewiring for multiple audio/visual locations as well as a security system.
Hoffmann Homes’ commitment to green construction and thoughtful design includes the careful selection of construction finish materials, such as exterior siding by James Hardie, durable wood flooring and quartz countertops. Completing this commitment to quality involves third-party verification with the following Green programs: the Department of Energy’s Net Zero Ready, Energy Star and Green Built Texas Certification. “Net Zero Ready” means these homes are ready for solar power and can eliminate the homeowner’s electric bill.
Each home in the community includes a level 2 electric car charging station and a StrucSure Home Warranty.
