Librarians felt that The Four Winds has been so popular because it’s a modern take on Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath. Keri Samples, the supervisor of community services for the Richardson Public Library, said in an email that “it’s heart-wrenching but well-written (and Hannah is a very popular author).”

The Midnight Library is intriguing because the main character is in a library where each title is a different approach to her life, so it’s very unique,” she said of another title on the list.
