Snoop Dogg picks two more Dallas natives for his team on ‘The Voice’

Suede Lacy and Eliza Pryor are the latest singers with D-FW ties to advance in the competition.

Snoop Dogg, a coach on NBC’s The Voice, has added two more Dallas natives to his team.

Suede Lacy, 29, and Eliza Pryor, 17, both made the rapper turn his chair during the blind auditions that aired this week.

Lacy, a former student at Booker T. Washington High School, secured the last spot on Snoop Dogg’s team with a soulful rendition of Childish Gambino’s “Redbone.”

Choosing Lacy, he said, was like getting “the number one draft pick as your last pick.”

Reba McEntire, another coach, also praised the singer.

“I can’t turn around because I’ve got everybody on my team,” she said. “But, boy, absolutely love your singing.”

Pryor got her spot on Snoop Dogg’s team with her performance of “Linger” by the Cranberries.

“I turned at the last second because I heard something that I liked,” Snoop Dogg said. “I’m astonished that no one else picked you.”

He asked Pryor for her favorite genre, and she said she’s recently enjoyed singing jazzy music.

“That’s what we gonna work on, I like that,” Snoop Dogg said. “Get you some Ella Fitzgerald in your life.”

Pryor split time between Dallas and Los Angeles for a few years as she pursued music and acting, according to her show bio. She now lives full-time in California with her dad.

Pryor and Lacy are the latest contestants with D-FW ties to advance past the audition stage, which concluded this week. Dallas-born singer Georgia Starnes is also on Snoop Dogg’s team while Fort Worth native Kendall Eugene and Dallas resident Danny Joseph are on McEntire’s team.

The contestants are competing for a $100,000 cash prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group.

New episodes of The Voice drop Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
