Beyoncé, Willie Nelson to hit the campaign stage in Houston with Kamala Harris

The Harris campaign has frequently used Beyoncé's song “Freedom,” for ads and rally entrances.

Pop star Beyoncé, a Texas native, is expected to join Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally in Houston on Friday, The Washington Post reported. Also, in attendance, according to The Post, will be the singer’s mother, Tina Knowles, and country legend Willie Nelson.

Rumors swirled at this summer’s Democratic National Convention that the super star singer, who is originally from Houston, would perform or endorse Harris, but ultimately Beyoncé did not appear.

She did, however, grant the Harris campaign permission to use her 2016 politically-spirited hit single, “Freedom.” The song has since been adopted as an anthem for Harris’ ads and the tune plays during her entrance at campaign rallies.

Former president Donald Trump also featured the “Freedom” song in a campaign video, where he was seen walking off a plane. The video was later deleted from social media, after Beyoncé's team threatened to send a cease-and-desist to the former president, Rolling Stone reported.

Both presidential campaigns have attracted their share of celebrity endorsers.

Taylor Swift announced in September she would vote for Harris, calling her a “steady-handed, gifted leader.”

Elon Musk, the chief executive of Tesla, appeared on-stage at a Trump rally in October, sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat. Rapper Kid Rock has also been a vocal advocate for Trump.
