10 ways to get discounted, cheap tickets to the State Fair of Texas in 2022

There’s no reason to pay full price, if you plan ahead.

It’s almost that time again. The ramp-up to the State Fair of Texas has begun, with the food finalists in the Big Tex Choice Awards unveiled on Tuesday. Before long, fairgoers will have a chance to sample the selections for themselves and take part in everything else the fair has to offer.

Ticket prices for the 2022 State Fair of Texas stayed the same as in 2021, but don’t miss out on these discounts that are available every day of the week, if you know how to snag them.

Before you cash in those savings — cha-ching! — take a look at what regularly priced tickets and season passes will cost.

Regular admission to the State Fair of Texas: A one-day ticket to the fair on Mondays through Thursdays costs $15 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors. The price goes up to $20 for adults and $15 for kids and seniors on Fridays. It tops out at $25 per adult and $18 for kids and seniors on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are available online or at the gate. Group rates are available for parties of 25 or more.

Season passes: If you think you’ll go more than three or four times during the fair’s 24-day run, a $50 season pass is the best deal. The pass comes with perks, like one bring-a-friend-free ticket.

But no one has to pay full price. Here are all the discounts offered on State Fair admission in 2022:
