Updated Jan. 10 at 10:45Â a.m.: Fortress Festival released the full line up of acts this week, including electro-pop band Chvrches, hip-hop duo Rae Sreemurd and psychedelic rockers Khruangbin. See the full lineup below.
Original story:
Native son Leon Bridges will come home to headline the third annual Fortress Festival in 2019.
The festival will be April 27-28 in Fort Worth's cultural district, mainly the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Genre-defying New Orleans band Tank and the Bangas is also part of the lineup. The New Orleans band won top honors in the 2017Â NPR Tiny Desk Contest.
Even so, the first wave of artists announced leans heavily toward North Texas. Others include Dallas rapper Bobby Sessions, who just signed with the legendary Def Jam record label; Dallas rapper Adrian Stresow; indie-rock group Luna Luna of Dallas; rock band The Cush of Fort Worth; and punk group War Party of Fort Worth.
Others included are Austin group Bright Light Social Hour; Austin rapper Abhi the Nomad; Lubbock country singer-songwriter Red Shahan; and Austin punk bank Sailor Poon.
The festival will announce another headliner and more acts in January. Past lineups included Chromeo, RZA, De La Soul, Slowdive and more.
Tickets are available now at early bird pricing via fortressfestival.com.
