Look for a surprise inside some big, blue eggs hidden around Dallas and across North Texas

[Editor's note: This story has been updated with details for the 2019 event.]

If you see a much-larger-than-usual bright blue egg nestled in the grass, don't turn into a chicken and run.

North Texas Honda Dealers are dropping 150 "Random Eggs of Helpfulness" across North Texas for your finding pleasure from Saturday, April 13, through Easter Sunday, April 21. There are prizes inside, including gift cards, tickets to movie theaters and local attractions like the zoo, theme parks and more.

The eggs could be anywhere, thus the random tag, and that includes public spaces such as parks, college campuses and shopping centers in more than a dozen area cities. But your chances increase if you go to any one of the listed events or locations. Or follow the Helpful Honda teams on Facebook,  for clues about their next stops.

There are rules.

If you're lucky enough to find an egg first, open it. Then you must take a picture with the egg and post it to the Facebook wall of the North Texas Honda Dealers page to actually get the "gift of helpfulness," according to a release. Don't worry, instructions are inside the eggs.

On Saturday, April 13, the big blue eggs will be in Burleson at the Easter Egg Hunt at Russell Farm , Aqua Egg Hunt at the Burleson Recreation Center and Bunny Daze at Hidden Creek Softball Complex. Other stops include Dallas, Denton, Arlington, Lewisville and DeSoto.

Sunday, April 14: North Richland Hills, Southlake, Rockwall and Irving.

Friday, April 19: Richardson from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Saturday,  April 20: In Plano at the Texas Pool Egg Hunt, the Heritage Farmstead Museum, Plano Aquatic Center; plus stops in Fort Worth, Garland, McKinney, Frisco and Paris.

Sunday, April 21: Dallas and Weatherford from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can spot the "Helpful Honda People" hiding the eggs because they'll be the ones in the blue polo shirts struggling to semi-hide the big, brightly hued (read: extra) baubles. The North Texas Honda Dealers group has been waging a campaign of kindness --" random acts of helpfulness" -- since 2017, including free gas for some lucky drivers, picking up grocery tabs, donating and volunteering and giving gift cards via Twitter.
