Dallas’ Game 3 loss to Minnesota wasn’t as bad as it looked, but it elicits a return volley from the Stars nevertheless.
“We didn’t create or generate enough,” Stars coach Pete DeBoer said after a loss that makes Sunday’s Game 4 a virtual must-win for Dallas.
DeBoer spoke to reporters Friday afternoon ahead of Game 3.
His response came to Pete DeBoer noting that Minnesota takes a lot of penalties following Dallas’ Game 2 win.
The offensive onslaught tied the Dallas Stars record for most goals in a playoff game.
Dallas also called up Riley Tufte ahead of Game 2 against the Minnesota Wild.
Pavelski took a high, hard hit from Wild defenseman Matt Dumba midway through the second period during Game 1 on Monday.
The Stars find themselves down 1-0 in their first-round series with the Wild entering Game 2.
Dumba did get a minor penalty in Game 1 after officials initially announced a five-minute major for the hit.
Dallas lost home-ice advantage and may have lost first-line forward Joe Pavelski.
