Gloria Salinas, the Dallas Regional Chamber’s vice president of economic development, is relocating.
Salinas is joining Frisco Economic Development Corp. as its vice president. She’ll lead its business development team and oversee efforts to attract more headquarters relocations to the fast-growing Collin County community.
Salinas replaces Jason Ford, who became the Frisco Economic Development president in June.
Frisco’s explosive growth shows no signs of slowing after decades of rapid expansion. Hall Park, the city’s largest plot of office space, announced plans to break ground later this month on a new 20-floor high-rise tower at the 162-acre campus.
The city is already home to sports teams, corporate headquarters like Dr Pepper and the massive development project surrounding the PGA’s relocation from Florida.
“Gloria’s experience and background are a perfect match for the excitement and growth happening in Frisco,” Ford said in a statement. “Frisco’s continued growth in the areas of technology, innovation and smart cities will also be a key area of focus for Gloria and the team.”
In addition to her role at the DRC, Salinas also previously worked in the Dallas economic development office and as director of downtown Odessa in West Texas. Salinas was a community editor and reporter at The Dallas Morning News from 2010 to 2013.
She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and she’s pursuing an MBA from SMU’s Cox School of Business.
