700 D-FW retailers, restaurants on tap for this year’s charity-aiding ‘Partners Card’

Shoppers can get a 20% discount at participating retailers during the holiday seasons, including at some new participants.

North Texas retailers are preparing for a new season of “Partners Card” ahead of the holidays.

With the Partners Card, shoppers receive a 20% discount at participating retailers and a 10% discount at participating restaurants. Each purchase goes directly to support programs and services at The Family Place.

Nearly 700 companies are participating this year in the effort that helps financially support The Family Place, the family violence service agency, according to Tiffany Tate, CEO, of The Family Place. The event begins Friday and continues until Nov. 3.

While returning retailers make up 98% of the lineup, there are new additions that come with some high-profile names. They include Glossier, Oscar de la Renta, Kendra Scott, Ray-Ban, Rothy’s and CB2.

Last year, the effort raised $1.3 million, and the goal is to meet or exceed that effort this year.

“The services provided by The Family Place continue to be in high demand, and so exceeding our fundraising goal will allow us to offer even more life-saving services to the community,” Tate said.

The program dates back to the 1990s and has grown to include more retailers as it raised more than $22 million.

The fund-raising goes to provide services and programs to survivors of family violence including emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotline, trained adult and children’s counselors, transitional housing and other outreach.
