American Airlines opened its new $250 million hospitality complex at its corporate headquarters campus in Fort Worth.

American Airlines opened its $250 million hospitality complex at its corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, complete with a swimming pool, fitness facility, tavern and ballroom to replace its stewardess college.

Known as Skyview 6, the hospitality building is one of the last pieces of the sprawling corporate campus that opened in 2019 as the 130,000-employee company moved from a 1960s-era headquarters nearby into the park-like grouping of facilities on 300 acres near DFW International Airport.

The new 550,000-square-foot building features 600 rooms that will function as a hotel for flight attendants, pilots and others visiting the American Airlines campus for training. There is also a dining room, outdoor sports courts and a coffee and wine bar along with a grab-and-go market.

“Skyview 6, the American Airlines campus hospitality complex, is the culmination of the multiyear project to create One Campus for One Team,” American said in a memo to workers. “Designed for and inspired by our team members, the new facility will welcome many from our frontline operation to campus and improve their learning and visiting experience.”

The new building connects to a training and conference center on the same campus and is near the American Airlines flight academy as well.

The new hotel building is also a few hundred yards away from American Airlines’ Skyview 7 building, the administration building which has its own array of restaurants and meeting spaces.

The building is open to all American Airlines employees, including those working for regional airlines Envoy, PSA and Piedmont.

The entry to the building features a 12-foot “Globe of Firsts” featuring some of the historic achievements at American Airlines, including tributes to having the first loyalty program, first female pilots and first customer lounges.

Inside, the dining room features a massive compass on the ceiling to give tribute to the company’s role in travel, along with plane engine turbine fans on the ceiling in the lobby.
