The automotive stars of this year’s State Fair of Texas are trucks, trucks and more trucks

The fair’s auto show is a staple of the annual event and one of the biggest displays in the region.

The State Fair of Texas is home to one of the biggest auto shows in the region and a staple of the event since 1913.

Here are some of the new models that major automakers are showcasing at this year’s fair, which opened Friday.

Chevrolet

Texas is one of the largest truck and SUV buying markets in the nation and that’s not lost on Chevrolet. It’s showing off its redesigned Silverado HD pickup truck, its 2024 Silverado EV and Equinox EV, and the 2024 Blazer EV. The 2023 Corvette Z06 is also on display.

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek builds on the brand’s “return to rugged” theme with more power, more ground clearance, off-road tuned suspension and all-terrain tires.

Dodge Ram is unveiling its 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel at the fair. It goes on sale later this year. Fairgoers can also take a test drive in what’s being called the Ram TRX Thrill Ride.

Toyota

The 2023 made-in-Texas Sequoia will share center stage with Toyota’s new Tundra, Highlander, RAV4 Hybrid and Corolla Cross Hybrid models. The redesigned Sequoia is now being built at Toyota’s San Antonio plant along with the Tundra.
