President Trump’s economic revival panel is loaded with North Texas connections

Collin County and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson also are leaning in to business leaders for advice.

The economic revival advisory panel created by President Donald Trump is stacked with North Texas connections.

Besides sports team owners Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban, the panel includes a host of CEOs of companies based in Dallas-Fort Worth, as well as parent companies of businesses located in the region.

Trump identified 202 business leaders Tuesday, including these local executives:

  • Ray Washburne, cofounder of M Crowd Restaurant Group and co-owner of Highland Park Village shopping center. He’s been a Republican Party fundraiser for Trump.
  • Real estate developer and technology investor Ross Perot Jr.
  • Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods.
  • Fluor CEO Carlos Hernandez.
  • McKesson CEO Brian Tyler.
  • PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta. PepsiCo is the parent company of Plano-based Frito-Lay.
  • Yum Brands CEO David Gibbs. Yum is the parent company of Plano-based Pizza Hut.

Trump isn’t the only elected official assembling business leaders for advice on how to stoke economic recovery. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson last week formed a task force and appointed former Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher to lead it.

And Collin County Judge Chris Hill last week named 31 business leaders to his economic recovery group. They are:
