Frito-Lay adds 120 jobs in $200 million Georgia plant expansion

The Plano-based division of PepsiCo will add lines making tortilla chips and Baked Cheetos.

Plano-based Frito-Lay will invest $200 million in a plant expansion in Georgia that’s expected to create about 120 new jobs, according to Gov. Brian Kemp’s office.

Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo that produces chips and other snacks, will add multiple manufacturing lines and additional warehouse space to its facility in Perry, Gov. Brian Kemp’s office said Wednesday. Perry is about 30 miles south of Macon.

The new manufacturing lines will produce Frito-Lay tortilla chip products and Baked Cheetos Puffs.

The Houston County plant employs more than 1,000 people, making it Frito-Lay’s largest manufacturing facility in the U.S., said Callum Bissett, senior director for the Perry site. Bissett called the plant “a key contributor to the Georgia economy.”
