McKinney has scored a corporate campus with the planned relocation of a longtime business to a new facility.
McKinney-based SRS Distribution Inc., a fast-growing national building products firm, plans to build a new corporate headquarters in the Craig Ranch development on State Highway 121.
SRS Distribution's new offices will be part of the 22-acre Hub 121 mixed-use development at Highway 121 and Alma road.
Dallas-based developer KDC will build the four-story, 100,000-square-foot building on 4 acres. Work on the building, which was designed by architect Gensler, will start this spring.
"SRS has long believed that we grow not only by investing in our business but also in our people and our community," Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution, said in a statement. "SRS has experienced exceptional growth over the last decade, and we are eager to get started on our new corporate campus that will embody our company's fanatical culture and help us continue to attract the best and brightest talent to our growing platform."
McKinney Economic Development Corp. is providing economic incentives to support the new office campus, which will add 150 jobs during the next decade.
SRS Distribution has been in business since 2008 and is a private company sponsored by investors Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners. The company operates under 28 local brands from 250 locations in 44 states
The $120 million Hub 121 development that will include SRS Distribution's new offices also includes plans for restaurants, retail, a hotel and office buildings.
Developer Shane Jordon purchased the 22 acres for the project in 2017.
"Hub 121 is poised to be the next big mixed-use development in Collin County, and we are thrilled SRS has chosen this location for their new corporate headquarters," McKinney Mayor George Fuller said in a statement. "Along with the new Independent Bank headquarters under construction at Craig Ranch, these two companies are anchoring an important section along the Sam Rayburn Tollway that will continue to attract progressive businesses to the area."
Developer KDC is finishing up construction on the 165,000-square-foot, six-story Independent Bank Group headquarters on the north side of Highway 121 in Craig Ranch. About 400 of the bank's employees are moving to the new building.
"Working on another build-to-suit project in the great community of McKinney is an exciting opportunity for the KDC Team," said Bill Guthrey, KDC senior vice president. "The office component is the final gem for the Hub 121 mixed-use development and will serve as a magnet for other companies wanting to locate here."
