New Richardson office project lands coworking firm Common Desk

Common Desk has rented office space on U.S. 75 for its eighth North Texas location.

Dallas-based coworking company Common Desk is growing again — this time with a location in Richardson.

Common Desk is opening a 31,500-square-foot shared office center in the 3400 at CityLine building at U.S. Highway 75 and Renner Road.

The new Richardson location will be Common Desk's eighth Dallas-Fort Worth location.

"We chose to partner with Common Desk not only for their coworking expertise but perhaps more importantly for their ability to activate building amenities for all tenants through thoughtful programming, top-notch staffing and technology," Will Paton, vice president for Transwestern Development, which built the project, said in a statement. "We are particularly excited about the partnership agreement as opposed to a traditional lease structure."

Common Desk plans to open the location this fall.

The shared office company has been in business since 2012 when it opened its first location in Dallas' Deep Ellum district. The firm recently expanded to Austin.

"We are excited to partner with 3400 at CityLine to further expand Common Desk's platform within the Metroplex," said Nick Clark, CEO and founder of the shared office firm. "3400 at CityLine is Richardson's premier asset, and Transwestern Development Co. perfectly aligns with our commitment to creating a comfortable, collaborative and productive environment with all the amenities desired by today's top professionals."

The 313,000-square-foot Richardson office project is owned by a venture of Transwestern Development, a fund advised by UBS Asset Management and Dallas' Malouf Interests.
