Construction kicks off on rental community in McKinney's Craig Ranch

Seneca Investments is building the 286-unit rental project as part of the Hub 121 mixed-use development north of State Highway 121.

Construction has started on a new apartment community in McKinney's booming Craig Ranch development.

Developer Seneca Investments is building the 286-unit rental project as part of the Hub 121 mixed-use development north of State Highway 121.

KWA Construction is the general contractor for the project, which totals 340,000 square feet.

"Young families seeking a modern suburban lifestyle have been flocking to the McKinney's Craig Ranch community in the last several years," KWA Construction president Brian Webster said in statement. "Overflowing with amenities, Hub 121 at Craig Ranch is expected to draw even more families and young professionals to this attractive area."

The 22-acre, $120 million Hub 121 project is being built at Alma Road at the entrance to the 2,200-acre Craig Ranch community, which is home to more than 25,000 people.

Plans for the project call for restaurants, retail, entertainment, offices, shopping and a hotel.

The development is next door to Independent Bank Group's new headquarters, which is planned to ultimately house as many as 1,200 workers in 400,000 square feet of offices.

The apartment project is at 7201 Henneman Way and was designed by Domus Studio Group.

The rental units are scheduled for completion in December 2020.
