The new rental community has 140 detached one-, two- and three-bedroom homes plus a community center with pool.

"Consumers are looking at home ownership differently since the crash of 2008, and we're excited about the opportunity to provide a unique experience within an industry that is often very cookie-cutter."

The homes start at $1,300 a month and have 10-foot ceilings, granite and quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. There are optional garages and electric car charging stations.

Based in Phoenix, NexMetro is working on additional projects in Fort Worth, Arlington and Celina.
