Dallas’ Cityplace Tower developers say hotel will open in 2022

Part office skyscraper will become a luxury hotel with restaurant, fitness center and pool.

More details are coming out about plans to convert part of a Dallas skyscraper into a luxury hotel.

Last summer, Dallas-based Highland Capital Management announced plans to convert part of the Cityplace Tower north of downtown Dallas into a 5-star InterContinental Hotel.

The hotel construction is part of a complete renovation Highland Capital plans for the tower it purchased in 2018.

Highland Capital has previously said the 233-room InterContinental will include more than 21,000 square feet of meeting space and a top-floor ballroom and banquet space with views of the nearby downtown skyline.

The 32-year-old high-rise is one of the tallest buildings outside of Dallas’ central business district and contains more than 1.3 million square feet of space.
