Ken Hersh, president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, has listed his Preston Hollow home that sits on 2 acres. The Dallas property provides plenty of breathing room in the city, and there’s a lot available next door for the next buyer if there’s a desire to expand.
The 11,176-square-foot home was custom-built for the family in 1998. The Hershes raised their two children in the home, and listing agent Ryan Streiff said they even hosted soccer practice for their son’s St. Marks soccer team.
Outdoor living spaces abound on the large property. The backyard includes a sport court, a pool with a spa and a cabana outfitted with a living space, a full bathroom and a full kitchen that all look out on the expansive green space. There is seating on a covered patio, around a fire pit and on the exterior of the cabana.
With five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, the home has plenty of room for a large family or for entertaining.
Listing agent Ryan Streiff said that, although the house is large, the living room, kitchen, breakfast room and family room are connected in a way that provides views of most of the wings of the house — from the downstairs living area to the walkway connecting the second-story bedrooms and outside.
“It’s like command central,” Streiff said, “You’re connected to almost every point in the house and out there onto the 2-acre property from that one vantage point.”
The master suite is on the first floor in its own wing of the house. The bedroom has a sitting area surrounded by windows that provide plenty of natural light, and it has a small covered patio that overlooks the backyard. In the master bathroom, large his-and-her closets attach to a bathroom that features a large bathtub and two vanities.
An exercise room and library are near the master suite on the first floor. On the opposite side of the floor, near the three-car garage, there is an additional bedroom and bathroom. A media room and billiards room connect to the family room, or as Streiff noted, “command central.” A formal dining room is at the front of the house, near the entry.
There are four bedrooms on the second floor, and three of them have en suite bathrooms and walk-in closets. One bedroom is designated as a guest quarters because it has a private entrance off the back of the house.
In addition to the bedrooms, there is a game room and hobby room that share a full bathroom. There is an additional living space on the second-floor landing of the central stairway, near the bedrooms.
On the front side of the house, there is an additional two-car garage with a porte cochere.
Streiff said the vacant lot next to the home at 10742 Lennox is on the market for $3.6 million, so buyers could expand the property to 4 acres if they purchase that as well.
10714 Lennox Lane is listed for $4,495,000 by Ryan Streiff of The Perry-Miller Streiff Group of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.
