Check out this Design District warehouse that was converted into a home priced at nearly $2 million

The current owner parks his luxury vehicles inside this Dallas house.

Drive by 2231-33 Valdina St. in the Design District, and you’d probably think it was an artist’s studio. It’s a warehouse with a gated entrance, a simple exterior and garage doors across the front.

But someone lives there.

In fact, it’s a set of multiple units. Keith Johnston, who owns Unit 102, was part of the early development of the warehouse and helped get it rezoned for residential living. Johnston, who is an entrepreneur, investor and the CEO of Branded Inc., has listed his home for $1,975,000. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and enough interior space for the current owner to park two of his luxury vehicles inside.

He said there are six units in the building and noted that they are essentially white boxes that can be modified to an owner’s preference.

Listing agent Pogir said he’s seen a number of uses within the building and across the Design District.

“What I find down in the Design District is that people have passions, and they buy these spaces to do whatever they love down there, whether it’s art or work or live,” Pogir said.

Johnston said he modeled the interior of the home after a luxury suite in a hotel. At 5,617 square feet, his home is a combination of two units in the property. The interior is finished out with a sleek design of white floors, walls and shelving units. The ceiling is exposed, giving it a loft feel, and white dividers separate the various rooms.

The kitchen has sleek cabinets and stainless steel appliances. The floor plan leaves the kitchen open to the dining room and a small seating area set next to one of Johnston’s cars, a white Bentley convertible.

Further into the home, there’s a living area, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The minimalist motif fills the home, with black and white details throughout.

The home at 2231-33 Valdina St., Unit 102, is listed for $1.975 million by Pogir of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.
