Plano office project starts construction

New Dallas North Tollway building will house First United Mortgage.

Developer Cawley Partners has broken ground on one of the very few North Texas office projects to kick off during the pandemic.

Cawley Partners is constructing the 120,000-square-foot building at 3930 Dallas Parkway near Windhaven Drive in Plano. The Parkwood building will house First United Bank’s mortgage company.

Cawley Partners is building the project with Plano’s Haggard family, which owns the land.

“This is a huge accomplishment for all parties involved,” Bill Cawley, chairman and CEO of Cawley Partners, said in a statement. “This is also an important day because it shows North Texans are ready to move forward and look to the future of the workplace.”

First United Mortgage will move its corporate headquarters to the property. The Oklahoma-based financial firm is leasing more than half of the Parkwood building.

This week’s construction start for the Plano project comes after Cawley Partners just announced plans for another office on Mockingbird Lane near Dallas' Love Field.

About 6 million square feet of office space is currently under construction in Dallas-Fort Worth.
