This $7.95M Santa Barbara-style home is back on the market in Highland Park

The three-story house has an elevator and a wine room and is within walking distance of Knox-Henderson.

This 11,539-square-foot custom home sits on nearly a half acre in Highland Park and boasts Santa Barbara design elements. The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.

Listing agent Allie Beth Allman said the home is within walking distance of Knox-Henderson and the Katy Trail.

“It’s become a very desirable location,” Allman said.

The home was sold about a month ago, Allman said, but is back on the market after the previous buyers’ plans changed. Allman said the home is a good value because the owners aren’t trying to make a profit off of the listing, just trying to “move on”.

The home was custom built in 2007, and design details throughout include arched doorways, clean lines, exposed beams and eye-catching light fixtures. A gallery-like room connects the living room and the kitchen, where there is an additional sitting area. A study and a dining room sit on separate sides of the home, toward the front of the house.

The kitchen features gray painted cabinets, exposed beams, two sinks and two countertop islands. A wet bar and 1,100-bottle wine room are accessible from the kitchen and butler’s pantry, and there is a breakfast room adjacent to the kitchen.

A family room on the first floor centers around a large fireplace and has access to the back patio through multiple sets of French doors.

A guest quarters is attached to the house, but off on its own near the garage on the first floor, Allman said. It has a private entrance and a porch of its own.

The primary suite sits on the second floor and has its own sitting room with a fireplace, and a private covered balcony — all in its own wing of the second floor. The suite has two full his-and-her bathrooms, with heated floors and two walk-in closets.

The three remaining bedrooms all sit on the second floor, each with en suite bathrooms and closets. There is an additional living room on the second floor, a laundry room, and what is called a “common room,” which has a full bathroom and a closet.

The home has an elevator which accesses all three floors. On the third floor of the home, there is a bonus room.

Outside, the home has a pool, spa and outdoor living areas. There’s also a three-car garage and a backup generator.
