A Houston developer is planning two new apartment communities near Dallas’ Love Field.
Urban Genesis LLC plans the new rental properties on Maple Avenue north of Inwood Road.
One of the projects at Maple and Stutz Drive will contain 62 apartments, and a 75-unit rental building will be constructed across the street at Maple and Kimsey Drive, according to filings with the city.
The properties are currently zoned for industrial uses.
The planned apartments are in an area that’s already seen widespread multifamily residential construction.
The neighborhood is close to the medical district, and a DART commuter rail station is nearby.
Urban Genesis has already built apartments in North Oak Cliff and Oak Lawn.
The apartment builder has a track record of other projects at home in Houston, in Austin and in Fort Worth.
Dallas-Fort Worth is the country’s fastest-growing apartment market with more than 40,000 units under construction.
