Investors grow property holdings at prime Prosper intersection

Standridge Cos. and Columnar Holdings add to land at the Dallas North Tollway and U.S. 380.

A Dallas investor has added to its holdings at a busy intersection in Prosper.

The Standridge Cos. has purchased 50 acres near the northwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and U.S. Highway 380.

The property is next door to where the investor acquired 60 acres in 2019. The vacant tract is also next to the site where a Children’s Medical Hospital is planned on the west side of the tollway.

Standridge’s Tommy Crowell said his firm bought the sites for a future mixed-use development.

Standridge made the property purchase in partnership with Columnar Holdings.

“Standridge and Columnar now own a contiguous 110 acres at the northwest quadrant of Highway 380 and Dallas North Tollway and are in the process of constructing thoroughfare roads while advancing entitlements consistent with Prosper’s Tollway District,” Crowell said. “The Town of Prosper’s Tollway District allows for the most intense land uses within Prosper, and in partnership with the town, Standridge and Columnar expect to execute on an exciting vision for the property to the benefit of all stakeholders.

“The Dallas North Tollway and Highway 380 intersection is among the most dynamic growth corridors in D-FW and is ground zero for future development northward along the tollway,” Crowell said.

The investors acquired the development site from a local family partnership that owned the land. Jim Judge brokered the transaction.

Standridge Cos. and Columnar Holdings’ property is just west of where Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land is building the huge Gates of Prosper shopping center.
