This Craftsman home from 1913 in Dallas’ Munger Place has been updated, preserved

The home is 3,077 square feet with four bedrooms.

This Craftsman house in Munger Place built in 1913 has been updated with design elements consistent to the period. In the last year, updates have included new plumbing inside the house, electrical wiring and a new air conditioning system for the upstairs and downstairs. The home’s bathrooms and kitchens were also remodeled recently.

Listing agent Elizabeth Mast of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty said the sellers “have painstakingly tried to preserve the historic integrity of the entire property.”

The home has 3,077 square feet of space with four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half-bathroom, and it and sits on a 0.2-acre property.

Mast noted that light fixtures, though not original to the home, were sourced by the sellers to fit the period. The fireplace in the front living room is original to the house, though it has been redesigned slightly, Mast said. Originally, it would have had a gas heater at the center but now it has a gas fireplace instead. The home also has transom windows — a window that sits over an interior door to allow light and airflow — with operators that are a reproduction of what would’ve been part of the original design.

The home has a large front patio for lounging or entertaining. Just inside, there is a light-filled living room with the original fireplace. Another living room sits to the other side of the living room. The dining room is next to the kitchen and has plenty of natural light and a door with a transom window.

The primary suite is on the first level, which Mast said is unique in a home of this age. The bathroom was recently renovated, but it has an original cast iron bathtub, according to information provided by Mast.

The remaining bedrooms are on the second level of the home along with one full bathroom.

Outside the house has a patio and a detached garage.

The home at 4907 Tremont St. is listed for $950,000.
