This 5-bedroom Preston Hollow home has a California feel and sits on more than an acre

The Dallas house has large patios upstairs and downstairs.

If you’re in the market for a Dallas home but want a taste of California design, this 9,701-square-foot home offers just that, plus a dose of Mediterranean flair, too. With its large patios on both levels and a private courtyard off the primary suite, the home offers a layout suited for indoor-outdoor living.

The home at 5330 Palomar Lane is a custom-designed home built in 2010 in the Lobello Estates neighborhood in Preston Hollow, according to the listing. It sits a few blocks from the intersection of Inwood Road and Royal Lane. It has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.

At the front of the home is a foyer, a formal dining room with a patio and a larger entry area with a striking staircase. The library (or office) is at the front of the home on the first level and has built-in bookcases and a fireplace. A second office on the first level offers a work-from-home space filled with natural light and built-in storage.

Listing agent Susan Baldwin of Allie Beth Allman & Associates said it’s hard to find two full-size offices in a home. Often, one office is much smaller or tucked in a corner of a room.

The main living areas include a large great room with wood accents on the ceiling. The living room has windows and French doors on one side that provide views of the backyard. A wet bar is next to the living room and easily serves the outdoor living space with a door just outside the bar.

Baldwin said the great room offers plenty of space for entertaining. “You could take the furniture out and have a dinner for 50 in there,” she said. “I think that is hard to find, even in big homes.”

The home was updated in the last two years, Baldwin said, with changes to the roof, some new windows and the addition of specialty lighting throughout the home.

The three remaining bedrooms are on the second level, and each one has an en suite bathroom. There’s an additional space that can be used as a hobby room on the second level, plus a large game room with enough space for a game table on one end and seating to watch movies on another. The game room also has a wet bar and access to the upstairs patio.

The home sits on a 1.13-acre property, and outdoors you’ll find a pool, a spa, outdoor living spaces and additional green space. The property also has an attached three-car garage and an additional boat garage that is attached via a porte cochère, according to the floor plan.

The home is on the market for $7.295 million. Susan Baldwin is co-listing the home with Maureen Frieze, another Allie Beth Allman & Associates agent who is also the homeowner.
