More apartments are on the way at Frisco’s Brinkmann Ranch

Trammell Crow Residential is building hundreds of apartments on the property on Coit Road.

Apartment builder Trammell Crow Residential is planning a second phase of construction on its rental community at Frisco’s Brinkmann Ranch.

Earlier this year, Crow Residential filed plans to build more than 500 apartments at Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway on what was part of the Brinkmann Ranch.

The Dallas-based builder bought more than 100 acres zoned to allow for 2,300 rental units.

The first phase, an $118 million project, includes a dozen three-story apartment buildings designed by architect Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc.

Now the developer is planning to construct 82 rental units in two- and three-story townhouse buildings at Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway, according to planning documents filed with the state. The almost $53 million development will start in November and open in the summer of 2024. Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc. is also designing the second phase.

Brinkmann Ranch once included more than 5,000 acres at Preston Road and Main Street in the heart of Frisco. In the 1970s, parts of the ranch were used to film the Dallas television series.

In 2020, Plano-based Landon Development acquired 637 acres of the ranch on the west side of Coit Road. Landon Development bought the property for a $1 billion development of 4,700 houses and apartments.

Crow Residential is doing the apartment units.

Crow Residential is one of North Texas’ busiest apartment builders, with multiple projects across the D-FW area.
