Apartment community is on the way southeast of Dallas in Seagoville

The $40 million rental community will bring needed housing.

A new apartment community in the works will add needed housing to a southern Dallas County city.

The Malloy Bridge Residential project is planned at 108 South U.S. Highway 175 at Malloy Bridge Road in Seagoville.

The $40 million apartment development will include nine buildings and a clubhouse, according to planning documents filed with the state.

Construction is scheduled to start in January and be completed in 2024.

The Seagoville apartments are a project of KRR Construction of Duncanville. KRR Construction is an affiliate of Hou-Dal Affordable Housing Corp. Allen Whitwell Architect of McKinney designed the rental community.

The city of Seagoville voted this summer to provide economic incentives to support the apartment development.
