Dallas apartment builder eyes Arlington project

Zale Properties plans new rental community on South Collins.

Dallas-based apartment builder Zale Properties is headed to Arlington for its next project.

Zale Properties is a family-owned real estate firm that has built apartments in locations including Richardson, East Dallas and Rowlett. Now the developer is planning a 336-unit rental community at 8100 S. Collins St. in Arlington.

The Village at Arlington project is planned with eight three- and four-story apartment buildings, plus 60 single-family rental units. The community will also have a fitness center, a co-working office, a dog park and playgrounds.

Construction on the project is scheduled to start in March, according to planning documents filed with the state.

The Arlington rental community will take more than two years to complete.

Dallas’ JHP Architecture is designing the apartments.

Zale Properties is currently building a 394-unit rental community in Rowlett. It’s part of the $1 billion Sapphire Bay project at Interstate 30 and Dalrock Road.

The five-story Rowlett apartment project was designed by JHP Architecture and will open in 2024.

Zale Properties recently sold its Rowlett Station Apartments to a Virginia investor.

North Texas is the country’s fastest-growing apartment market with more than 60,000 units under construction.
