New Uptown Dallas apartment tower coming near Turtle Creek

Developer Alamo Manhattan will build the more than $130 million project.

Developers are hoping for a fall groundbreaking for Uptown Dallas’ next residential tower project.

Alamo Manhattan Corp. is planning its Fairmount Tower at Wolf and Fairmount streets near Turtle Creek. The $130 million, 31-story apartment high-rise would open in late 2025, according to planning documents filed with the state.

Along with luxury rental units, the project will include ground-floor retail. WDG Architecture designed the apartment tower.

The high-rise will replace small commercial buildings on the site across the street from the new Marriott Dallas Uptown Hotel. Alamo Manhattan also developed the Marriott tower, which opened in 2021.

The Fairmount Tower will join two other high-rise rental projects in surrounding blocks.

Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate recently started work on its 2811 Maple project — a 31-story, 177-unit apartment tower being built near the Stoneleigh Hotel.

At Maple Avenue and Wolf, Houston-based Hines is building a 21-story apartment tower as part of its redevelopment of the historic Maple Terrace building.

At the same time Alamo Manhattan is finalizing plans for its Uptown apartments, the developer is already building a new rental project in north Oak Cliff — a $43 million, 210-unit apartment community on Davis Street near Zang Boulevard that will open in 2024.
