Dallas apartment builder plans new Grand Prairie rental project

Trinsic Residential is working on another phase of apartments in the Southgate development.

Dallas-based apartment builder Trinsic Residential Group is planning another apartment project in Grand Prairie.

The developer is finishing work on its Aura Southgate rental community on Davis Road. The project is part of the Southgate mixed-use development that’s planned for apartments, retail, office and townhomes.

The first 303-unit, four-story phase of the project started construction more than a year ago. The builder plans to start construction early next year on the second phase of the development. The $42 million, 303-unit project will start in February, according to planning documents filed with the state.

Trinsic earlier this year got approvals to build a transit-oriented apartment project south of downtown Plano. The 325-unit apartment project would replace a lumber yard and commercial building on the north side of Bush Turnpike at J Place.

The builder is also planning a $40 million apartment community in Lewisville. The 300-unit project is the next phase of Trinsic Residential Group’s Aura Crown Centre apartments on East State Highway 121.
