$10 million house with indoor pool is a North Texas town’s most expensive listing ever

The crown jewel of the five-acre estate property is a 65,000-gallon indoor pool.

A high-end listing just raised the bar for the luxury market in a fast-growing city south of Dallas.

The huge 22,000-square-foot estate at 400 Victorian Drive in Waxahachie was just listed for $10 million.

The eight-digit price tag makes the home the highest-priced listing in Waxahachie since 2002, the earliest year the listing service used by local agents has records, according to the MetroTex Association of Realtors.

“If we would have put this house on the market last year, I just don’t think Waxahachie was positioned yet,” said Karen Cuskey-Hartman of Coldwell Banker Realty Dallas, who listed the home alongside James Strength. “There’s big money investing in Waxahachie.”

She noted major business deals in Waxahachie such as sports merchandise seller Fanatics’ plan to build a new distribution center at a business park developed by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ real estate company, which was announced in May.

The highlight of the home is a 65,000-gallon indoor pool with an adjacent living space and kitchen. Cuskey-Hartman said the pool room has its own dehumidifier.

“If you’ve ever been in a hotel where they’ve got an inside pool and it smells like chlorine, and you feel like it’s humid in that room — it doesn’t in this room,” Cuskey-Hartman said.

The home sits on a five-acre property that also includes a one-acre lake, a four-plus car garage, an RV garage, a gym with a sauna and an 800-bottle wine room. It also has a safe room with 12-inch-thick walls, according to Cuskey-Hartman.

Built in 2022, the home has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, three half bathrooms, and an additional two-bedroom guest house.

“Whenever you buy a home, a lot of times you get this great master bedroom and then a great master closet, and then the secondary rooms aren’t typically as grand,” Cuskey-Hartman said. “Every single bedroom in this house is grand. At least three of the bedrooms downstairs I can call a master. The closets are gigantic.”
