One of North Texas’ largest developers plans for midrise apartments in Dallas’ downtown

Construction is expected to finish in mid-2025.

One of North Texas’ largest developers has started work on a midrise apartment complex in downtown Dallas.

Centurion American Development Group will erect The Parc on Jackson, a 182-unit development, next to The Dallas Morning News’ offices at Harwood and Jackson streets, a company representative said.

Current plans call for a seven-story complex with 45 two-bedroom apartments and 137 one-bedroom apartments. Estimated average rents will hover around $3,000.

Plans to build the apartments have been in the works since 2018. The News reported in 2022 that Dallas architect 5G Studio Collaborative designed the building as an extension of another apartment block Centurion Development has planned around the corner.

Both properties are in Dallas’ Harwood Historic District, which includes a mish-mash of buildings constructed between the late 1800s and the 1980s.

“The Parc on Jackson will provide a vibrant, urban lifestyle to hundreds of new downtown residents. Centurion American has long enjoyed partnering with the City of Dallas to create opportunities for residents to live, work and play in downtown Dallas,” Mehrdad Moayedi, CEO of Centurion American Development Group, said in a statement.
