Ranch round up: These properties near D-FW are on the market

Three ranches selling for a combined $100 million-plus are within driving distance of Dallas.

If you’ve got millions upon millions to spend, maybe your dream home is among the creeks and rolling hills of a ranch hours from Dallas-Fort Worth.

There are multiple multi-million dollar properties of this kind on the market, including one North Texas ranch that carries an asking price of more than $50 million.

Here are four ranches near D-FW on the market right now and one coming soon:

This more than 5,500-acre property in Jack County is 84 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, and the listing from brokers Hall and Hall Partners describes a property fit for entertainment, hunting and livestock operations.

More than 3,100 acres are high-fenced and stocked with exotic animals including blackbuck, fallow deer, axis deer, nilgai antelope, buffalo and aoudad sheep. They live alongside native wildlife like whitetail deer, turkey, hogs, and migratory dove.

The adjoining 2,400 acres are low-fenced with three lakes, coastal fields and varied terrain with large oak trees.

The ranch includes a fully-furnished 10,000-square-foot home with seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Noteworthy amenities include a game room with billiards and shuffleboard as well an outdoor entertainment area with a pool, bar and cooking area.

There’s also five guest homes, multiple equipment barns and a 4,000-square-foot event barn. The ranch’s water resources include four lakes, over 20 ponds, several all-weather creeks and water wells.

Frog Bottom Ranch (5R Ranch): $24.9 million

The Cooke County ranch sits on 4 miles of riverfront located on Sivells Bend of the Red River.

The roughly 2,300-acre property has several beaches and easy access points for potential buyers who are interested in watersports. White-tailed deer, waterfowl, turkey, hogs, bobcats, coyotes and other game are found on the ranch grounds.

The ranch also has roughly 250 agricultural acres surrounded by hardwood riverfront timber.

The main house in 7,000 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There is also a detached guesthouse with a full bathroom.

The property is spread across two parcels, and the smallest plot is nearly 160 acres. Sub-division and separate sales are possible, according to the listing.

Bosque Mountain Ranch: $19.9 million

There’s a public price for the Bosque County property belonging to Dallas real estate executive Randy Cooper — $19.9 million.

The 288-acre ranch near Clifton holds a 6,900-square-foot main house, a 4,200-square-foot pool house, a self-contained guest house and a barn that holds a 3,550-square-foot living and entertainment area on its second floor.

It’s about about an hour and a half from both Dallas and Fort Worth.

The Dallas Morning News reported on the ranch in June when it first hit the market. Icon Global is marketing the property.

Karns Ranch

The 820-acre property in Henderson County is naturally divided into two parcels. Each plot includes well-stocked fishing lakes.

The northern tract features an existing 5,000-square-foot home on a bluff overlooking a 40-acre lake. The southern lakes are roughly 28 and 16 acres, and the high-fenced tract is home to both native and exotic wildlife like zebras, wildebeests, axis deer, buffalo and scimitar oryx.

Ferris Ranch: coming soon

Ferris Ranch, a 242-acre property in Ellis County, will soon hit the market. The ranch has a 3,500-square-foot home with three bedrooms, an additional loft and 2 1/2 baths. The property includes a pond, creek system, hardwood trees with portions zoned for agricultural use.

The recreational and equine ranch is about 20 minutes south of Dallas in Ferris. Icon Global is marketing the property. The pricing and listing should be coming soon.
