Here’s where you can find this year’s Black Friday deals from major retailers

The discounts aren’t as eye-popping, but they’re starting earlier this season.

This year’s Black Friday deals were planned extra early due to the ongoing supply chain issues. But the truly hot deals and hot items never come with an unlimited supply anyway.

Retailers are repeating what worked in prior years as they pull shoppers into spending earlier and lessening the importance of the day after Thanksgiving.

Overall, U.S. consumers will pay 9% more on average during the promotional days of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, according to Adobe Digital Insights. Shoppers accustomed to historical average discounts of 10% to 30% that week will see more modest offers of 5% to 25% off this year.

It’s putting a focus on Mondays this year with a series of deals just for its reward members who get notified when they drop.
  • Amazon calls its holiday discounts Black Friday-worthy deals, and those also started in October. Through November, Amazon said it will have top brands’ “most-loved products” discounted 10% to 50%. The deals include named brands such as Apple, Hasbro, Sony, Shark, L’Oreal Paris, Bose and KitchenAid. It set up a page for the discounts at amazon.com/epicdeals. I was shown a selection of magazine subscription offers.
  • Macy’s started offering early access to its biggest Black Friday specials the week before Halloween and the prices are good throughout November. Starting Nov. 3, it’s offering some prices as low as $3 and under $5. Why not? (There’s a whole chain called FiveBelow.) Some of those items include $4.99 cultured freshwater pearl studs and $4.99 men’s Levi’s tees. The $20 and under category includes $14.99 kitchen appliances and $15.99 kid’s puffer jackets.
  • J.C. Penney said its Black Friday prices started on Nov. 1 with extra 20% off select Sports Fan Shop merchandise and 25% off the rest of the store. It has a section of “splurge-worthy” gifts such as a Barbie Dream House for $199.99 and a Rockin Rider Honda 6v Brown Camo ATV for $139.99.
  • Kohl’s is bringing back its $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent on select days. That’s up from $10 for every $50 in purchases the rest of the year. One of its early discounts is 20% off through Nov. 4. Kohl’s has also grouped deals as $10 and under, $20 and under and so on. A few places list the Power XL Vortex Air Fryer. Kohl’s says it’s a “best seller” and has the 2-quart size priced at $89.99.
