Anthropologie has closed at Highland Park Village and is prepping for Knox Street

There’s lots happening on and off Knox with the 12-story Weir’s Furniture building almost finished. Yeti is moving to a new location on McKinney.

Anthropologie closed its Highland Park Village store last week as it gets closer to its planned move to Knox Street.

The Anthropologie store at 4600 McKinney Ave. on the corner of Knox will open March 9. It’s across from Crate & Barrel and the Apple store.

At Highland Park Village, the space Anthropologie vacated is being prepared to temporarily house Chanel while its space is being made into a two-level store.

There’s lots happening on and off Knox, with the 12-story Weir’s Plaza almost finished. Another major project on Travis Street just south of Knox with luxury residential apartments, a boutique hotel, office and retail space will take a few years to complete.

Last year’s big opening was the RH Gallery on Knox with its rooftop restaurant.

Yeti is opening its new store at 4525 McKinney just south of the Apple store. That section of McKinney has two new home furnishings retailers: Oka Furniture, which opened in September, and Interior Define Studio, which opened in December.

At 4,063 square feet, the new Yeti store is bigger than the one it’s replacing on Knox. It will feature what Yeti calls the “Garage,” a section where customers can personalize their coolers with colored latches, ropes and badges.

Fly fishing is the theme of the store design. Central Texas fly fishing guide Alvin Dedeaux donated his personal kayak, which is similar to the one he uses in the YETI Presents Film The Devils, to hang from the ceiling.
