Bed Bath & Beyond is closing 4 more stores in Texas

The additional store closings come as Bed Bath & Beyond is shutting down its Lewisville distribution center that employs 374 people.

Bed Bath & Beyond is adding four more Texas stores to its list of closures — two in Lewisville and one each in Plano and Temple.

The New Jersey-based retailer is struggling to repay lenders and has said it may have to reorganize in bankruptcy. The big box chain of more than 800 stores also said Monday that it is closing a major distribution center in Lewisville that handled e-commerce orders and employs 374 people.

The company, which has seen operations worsen after a failed turnaround, will have about 50 stores in Texas and a dozen in Dallas-Fort Worth after the new closings.
