Andretti Indoor Karting & Games set to open in Grand Prairie in July

The arcade and go karting company is expanding from The Colony. Another location is expected to open in Fort Worth later this year.

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is set to open its doors on July 10 in Grand Prairie, the company said. The grand opening will feature prize giveaways as the entertainment venue opens its eighth location in the U.S. and its fifth in the state. In North Texas, Andretti is open in The Colony, and another is slated to open in Fort Worth later this year.

“We’re so excited to be [in Grand Prairie]. This is a great community,” Collette Shillcutt, general manager of the new location, said. “It’s going to offer so many more opportunities for people of the Dallas Metroplex, an opportunity to come experience us [without] having to drive all the way up to The Colony area.”

Shillcutt said the new location will add 380 jobs to the Grand Prairie area. The 92,000-square-foot facility at 3750 S. Highway 161 is across from Grand Prairie’s EpicCentral entertainment district, near IKEA and next to Bass Pro Shops and a new Topgolf location.

The city expanded the entertainment district in 2021, constructing hotels, a convention center and restaurant space. The 172-acre park at George W. Bush Tollway and Arkansas Lane also has man-made lakes, a water park and a recreation center.

“It all fits into what we’re trying to accomplish, which is a place where families can come for entertainment in an affordable, friendly, fun atmosphere,” Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen said. “What we are trying to accomplish is a regional draw.”

The Andretti venue will feature indoor go-karts, arcade games, virtual reality experiences, laser tag, interactive bowling and a motion theater. The location will also have a restaurant with pizza, three bars and a patio.
