10 new restaurants to try this week in Plano, Frisco and other Collin County cities

You’ll find everything from ice cream to coffee to Nigerian treats.

You can find a lot of new restaurants and coffee shops in Collin County right now.

An ice cream shop, restaurant, and grocery store under one roof, Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy opens a new location at 1501 N. Custer Road in McKinney this week on Sept. 28. McKinney is also getting a new Chick-fil-A, so expect to see cars lined up for chicken sandwiches and lemonade at 5001 W. University Drive next month.

After first invading Dallas-Fort Worth with island-inspired fare in 2020, Hawaiian Bros recently announced five new area locations opening by the end of the year. Located at 11560 Dallas Parkway, the new spot in Frisco opened on Sept. 25.

Known for oak-roasted coffee beans and a mysterious addictive creamer known as Moon Milk, Summer Moon Coffee recently opened a new shop in downtown Celina at 306 W. Walnut. Speaking of coffee, Melissa now has an independent coffee shop. Located at 1280 Sam Rayburn Highway, Suite 700, George’s Coffee @121 is now open.

Popular Dallas sushi spot Oishii has expanded to Plano for its third location, at 8448 Parkwood Boulevard, Suite 700.

Boxochops Modern African Kitchen is now open in Plano, selling traditional Nigerian snacks, pastries and more. 8500 Ohio Drive, Suite 200, Plano.

Wing Snob is now open in West Frisco, serving Buffalo wings and cheesecake, reports Community Impact News. They also reported that Red Hot Chik’n is now serving chicken sandwiches, wings and more in Plano.

Closings:

* La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco is temporarily closed after a kitchen fire.

* Vakeroz Restaurant and Cantina is closed in Frisco, reports Community Impact News.
