Beer walks, brat-eating, and candy: 5 fall foodie events in Collin County this weekend

Walk around outside with booze or take your kids trick or treating.

From noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 23 in Plano, head to McCall Plaza to check in for the Downtown Plano Beer Walk. Once you’ve checked in and got your glass, passport, and beer guide, enjoy the tasting tour, and keep track of all the beer you drink with a tasting card. Pre-purchasing tickets saves you $5.

FrankenStein Fest is also taking place Oct. 23 in Plano at McCall Plaza from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The free event includes live music, costume contests for both kids and dogs, a video game tournament, and brat-eating contest. View the full schedule here.

From 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23, there is The Village at Allen Fall Festival. The family-friendly event will have music, games, refreshments, free pumpkins for children 11 and under, and a costume parade.

In McKinney on Oct. 23, the Trick or Treat Trail is at Towne Lake Park from 3 to 9 p.m. The free event has free parking at the high school, trick or treating around the lake, pet adoption, a kids zone, costume contests, a pumpkin derby race, food trucks, and music from the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Halloween Capital of North Texas, Celina, will draw thousands for their Oct. 23 Halloween festival. Beware! of the Square takes place at Celina Town Square from 4 to 9 p.m. Expect food vendors, a haunted house, carnival rides, obstacle courses, bounce houses, axe throwing, spooky music and escape rooms. An open-container event, drinks to-go in plastic cups will be available from restaurants and bars.
