Lakewood Brewing Co. launches new ‘sunburst’ beer for the solar eclipse

The brewing company will also host a viewing event on April 8, 2024.

Lakewood Brewing Company has several releases this season, and one of them was created especially to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse.

The brewing company recently launched Sunburst Wheat (5.5% abv), its new spring/summer seasonal beer. It’s an American Pale Wheat described as light with mild fruity hints. This new brew commemorates the solar eclipse and will be available statewide by April 8, 2024.

Lakewood will hold an eclipse viewing event on April 8 at its Garland restaurant at 2302 Executive Drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bar and kitchen will be open early, and free solar glasses will be given to the first 75 people who request them.

In addition to Sunburst Wheat, Lakewood Brewery released Stub’s Texas Pils (4.5% abv), a clear, smooth pilsner priced between $8.99 and $9.99 for a 6-pack and $18.99 for a 12-pack.

Lakewood is also introducing two new Temptress varieties. One is Irish Cream Temptress (9.1% abv), with the creamy flavors of Irish cream, roasted malt and chocolate, and Cookies’n Cream Temptress, brewed with Oreo cookies.
