Lone Star Brewing hops on the hard seltzer bandwagon with Texas release

The seltzer is inspired by the flavor and spritzy profile of ranch water.

Lone Star Brewing Company, producer of Lone Star Beer, jumps into the crowded hard seltzer pool with its latest release: Lone Star Seltzer. Inspired by the flavor and spritzy profile of ranch water — Texas’ popular tequila cocktail — the Agave Lime seltzer’s tangy citrus flavor is lightly sweetened with blue agave nectar.

Like other hard seltzers, its alcohol component is sucrose-based, and lively carbonation keeps it crisp and refreshing. In addition to the Agave Lime flavor, Lone Star makes an Agave Watermelon hard seltzer. Both are sold only in Texas, and brewed at Oasis Texas Brewing Company in Austin. It’s the same brewery contracted by its parent, Pabst Brewing Company, to make Pearl Beer (one of the holding company’s  50-plus brands). Lone Star plans to branch out with other hard seltzer flavors after this initial rollout.

The Lone Star launch follows hard seltzers from Topo Chico, Shiner and more.
