1418 Coffee opens in Garland featuring drinks inspired by cultural icons, including the Beatles

The new coffee shop offers a spot for locals to grab a cup of joe inside a church on Beltline Road.

If you’re a die-hard rock n’ roll fan, Garland’s 1418 Coffee shop will allow you to experience drinks inspired by some of your favorite musicians.

The downtown Plano staple, has opened up a new location in Garland serving up the same drinks with rock n’ rollers and cultural icons as their namesakes.

The drinks include the sweet lavender and vanilla Purple Haze, named for the Jimi Hendrix song, and the white hot chocolate and cayenne-pepper combo the Sgt. Pepper, named for the Beatles album.

The Garland location inside Springcreek Church at 2660 Beltline Road will not only features the same menu of specialty drinks but also serve the sandwiches and pastries available at the original Plano location. It also offers soft drinks and more grab-n-go items, owner David Bryant said.

Another coffee shop, Shared Table, previously operated in the spot in the church that is accessible without entering the main church space. It closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic and never reopened.

People looking to take some coffee beans home can purchase 1418 Coffee that is roasted by the shop’s sister company, Celina Coffee Roasters, that is based in McKinney, Bryant said.

The java joint is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The shop is closed on Sundays. To check out some of the other flavors, visit 1418 Coffee’s website here.
