Blistered Shishito Peppers with Sour Cream Dipping Sauce

8 ounces shishito peppers
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Kosher salt and black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Sour Cream Dipping Sauce (recipe follows)
In a medium bowl, toss the peppers with the vegetable oil. Place the peppers in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 400 F for 6 minutes, or until peppers are lightly charred in spots, stirring the peppers halfway through the cooking time.
Transfer the peppers to a serving bowl. Drizzle with the sesame oil and toss to coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with the red pepper, if using, and the sesame seeds and toss again.
Serve immediately with the dipping sauce.
Makes 4 servings.
Sour Cream Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together 1 cup sour cream, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 1 minced garlic clove and 1 finely chopped green onion. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.
