Bacon, biscuits and bubbles: Our 7 favorite D-FW brunch-to-go deals

Even though dining rooms have been allowed to open, takeout business is still soaring at many local restaurants.

Bacon and biscuits and bubbles, oh my! COVID-19 concerns haven’t stopped North Texans from craving their favorite weekend meal ― brunch. As a response, many restaurants have adjusted so you can have your pancake and eat it, too ― at home. Even though dining rooms having been allowed to open, and will be expanding to 50 percent occupancy on May 22, takeout business is still soaring at many favorite spots.

Jonathon’s Diner

One of Dallas’ best-known spots for breakfast/brunch has made a few changes due to COVID-19. While the original Jonathon’s Oak Cliff location is closed, Jonathon’s Diner ― which is just down the street ― is open and taking to-go orders. If you’re looking to dine-in, parties of four or less are allowed, and you must wear a mask.

Snooze A.M. Eatery

With Addison being the only Dallas-area location open, Snooze A.M. Eatery is bringing brunch favorites to those in need of a fix. While the restaurant is open for dine-in ― and accepting parties of six or less ― they are still honoring take-out and third party delivery. Snooze’s full menu remains, however there are some items not being offered due to sourcing constraints.

Ida Claire

Another Addison hotspot ― Ida Claire ― is making brunch to-go an easy choice for customers. Ida’s Full Table Brunch Kit ($45) comes with biscuits and gravy, eggs (uncooked), waffles, chicken tenders, ham, potato hash, fruit and OJ ― available Saturday and Sunday only. Diners still have the option of ordering menu staples like crawfish corn beignets and shrimp and grits for take-out or dine-in.

Streets Fine Chicken

Good any day of the week, savory fried chicken hits the soul a little different on the weekend, especially when paired with bubbles. In addition to fried bird, Streets is offering breakfast biscuits, specials like cinnamon bread pudding French toast, and mimosa kits. Though opting out of dine-in for now, takeout and third-party delivery is an option at both locations.
