Grab ‘n go salad shop Crisp & Green has opened in Dallas, just in time

If you’re waffling on your New Year’s resolutions, this new shop can help.

New-to-Dallas eatery Crisp & Green is determined to help you keep your New Year’s resolutions. The restaurant opens Jan. 12 in University Park, across the street from Southern Methodist University.

Crisp & Green is a grab ‘n go salad shop with smoothies and grain bowls. But it’s also a part-time fitness house that offers free workouts on the front steps of the complex.

Two days before its opening, fitness instructor Jasmine White hosted a Pilates class on a chilly winter morning, after which the attendees noshed on salads like the 555-calorie No Prob Cobb salad with jalapeño green goddess dressing.

Other upcoming workout classes at the Dallas shop include Sculpt45 (cardio with weights) and TruFusion (high-energy Pilates with strength training). Interested attendees need to register online in advance.

The company originated in Minnesota in 2016 and has plans to expand to North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Texas. The shop on Hillcrest Avenue in Dallas is Crisp & Green’s first restaurant outside of its home state.

Crisp & Green’s menu includes build-your-own bowls with greens or grains (or both), topped with simple ingredients like apples, chickpeas, cucumber, radicchio and the like. The vinaigrettes that top each bowl include balsamic, ginger-curry, jalapeño-lime, maple-hazelnut and lemon-herb. Customers can order any salad for pick-up, curbside or delivery. The restaurant is also open for dine-in.

Smiley says in a statement that the company is “extremely fortunate” to be growing as a franchise during a global pandemic.

“We see great potential for our brand in this market and look forward to introducing Dallasites to the Crisp lifestyle.”

Crisp & Green is at 6565 Hillcrest Ave., Dallas., near Foxtrot. It opened Jan. 12, 2021.
