New McKinney Chick-fil-A will honor 100 ‘local heroes’ when it opens this week

The newest Chick-fil-A in McKinney is set to open Thursday at Lake Forest Drive and Highway 380.

When McKinney’s newest Chick-fil-A opens Thursday, 100 local residents will be recognized for their contributions to the city — and will receive free food for a year.

“In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100 Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Lake Forest Dr & Hwy 380 will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in the McKinney area with free Chick-fil-A for a year,” according to a company news release.

In addition, the company will donate $25,000 to Feeding America, with funds to be distributed to partners within the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The new restaurant will be owned and operated by Christy Davis, according to the release, who started her career with the company when she was 17.

For 13 years she operated the Chick-fil-A on Preston Road in Frisco.

“As an operator, my goal is to make our community and guests feel cared for at all times,” Davis said in the release. “I hope Chick-fil-A at Lake Forest Drive and Hwy 380 can make a positive impact, and I look forward to the opportunity of partnering with local organizations who not only better our restaurant but the community we serve.”

The restaurant is located at 5001 West University Drive.
