Hawaiian food, shawarma and more: 9 new restaurants to know in Collin County

Check out these new and coming-soon spots in Plano, McKinney and more.

Utah-based Hawaiian food chain Mo’Bettahs will open its first North Texas location in Plano next month. The menu features steak teriyaki, pulehu chicken, kalua pig, and shrimp tempura. 1701 Preston Road, mobettahs.com.

Rodeo Goat, known for its casual patios and big burgers, is expanding to Frisco in March 2022 at 3111 Preston Road (near Gaylord Parkway). Rodeo Goat currently has six other restaurants: in the Dallas Design District, Fort Worth, Plano, Irving, Rockwall and Houston.

If you ever wished you could get a falafel or beef shawarma wrap at Wal-Mart, this is your year. Shawarma Press will open in the Walmart Supercenter at 6001 N. Central Expressway in Plano by the end of the year. shawarmapress.com.

Romeo Pizza’s opened a new location in Allen on Oct. 14 at 1010 W. Exchange Parkway, Ste. 2150. The Ohio pizza chain opened its Frisco location in June and will invade McKinney on Nov. 4 with yet another spot at 3755 S. Lake Forest Drive, Ste. 100. romeospizza.com.

Salomay, a coffee shop with crepes, opened in McKinney on Oct. 9 at 5121 Collin McKinney Parkway, Ste. 100. salomays.com.

McKinney is also getting a new Chick-fil-A at 5001 West University Drive. The new restaurant will open Oct. 21 and will honor “100 local heroes” with a year of free food. Chick-fil-a.com.

A bubble tea shop with a huge menu of smoothies, slushies, fruit teas, and snacks, Chill’d opened on Oct. 9 at 3401 Preston Road, Ste. 15 in Frisco. chilld.business.site.

Dunkin’ Donuts will open another location in Richardson early next year at 1225 E. Belt Line Road. dunkindonuts.com.

Speaking of early next year, Crush Taco plans to celebrate its 5th anniversary by opening a second Frisco location in January. The menu includes a “fried chicken elotes taco,” chorizo fries, and breakfast tacos. 360 Stonebrook Parkway, Ste. 100. crushtaco.com.
